Team from CPS Lab wins the First Place and Undergraduate Research Capstone Awards

A team from the CPS Lab has recently been awarded the First Place and Undergraduate Research Capstone Awards for their outstanding work on a project titled “Real-Time Overcrowding Detection and Prediction with Aerial Robots.” The team was composed of Erik Jagnandan, Tahmeed Chowdhury, Sreeram Mandava, and Preston Stecklein. Their project aimed to develop an innovative approach to address the problem of overcrowding in public spaces, such as stadiums or airports, using aerial robots equipped with sensors and machine learning algorithms. Their work was highly praised for its potential to improve safety and security in public areas and was recognized with two prestigious awards.
